Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026. This policy explains what information Puppet 3D collects, why we use it, and how we protect account, subscription, download, and license validation data.
Who we are
The Puppet 3D service is operated by Puppet3D, based in Peru. For privacy questions or data requests, contact support@puppet3d.com.
Information we collect
We may collect account information such as your email address, authentication provider, user ID, account status, and support messages. We may collect subscription and license information such as subscription status, billing period dates, download timestamps, license tokens, registered device records, device names, usernames reported by the operating system, fingerprints used for license limits, validation timestamps, and related diagnostic logs.
We may also receive technical information from your browser, device, or server requests, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, error logs, and security or fraud-prevention signals.
Payments
When purchases are available, orders may be processed by an authorized payment provider. That provider may act as reseller or merchant of record for those transactions and handle payment details, taxes, invoices, receipts, fraud checks, subscription billing, and payment-related buyer support.
Puppet 3D does not collect or store full card numbers or sensitive payment card details on its own systems. We may receive limited payment and subscription records from our payment provider, such as customer identifiers, subscription status, billing period, product purchased, country, currency, and transaction identifiers.
How we use information
We use information to create and manage accounts, provide downloads, validate active subscriptions, enforce device limits, prevent unauthorized sharing, provide support, maintain security, improve the service, comply with legal obligations, and communicate important account or product notices.
Product update emails
If you have a Puppet 3D account, we may email you about new Puppet 3D software releases. Depending on your plan, these messages may include the version number, a short summary of what changed, and a link to download or learn more on our website. We send them through our email provider (such as Resend) using the address on your account.
Pro subscribers may receive emails when we publish a new Pro bundle release relevant to their subscription.
Free account holders may receive emails when we publish a new Free bundle release. They may also receive separate emails when we publish a new Pro release, describing Pro-only features or improvements so you can see what is included in a paid subscription. Those Pro announcements are still about Puppet 3D products tied to your account, not third-party advertising; each message will clearly indicate whether it applies to Free, Pro, or both, and will not pretend a Pro-only update is available on your Free install.
You can turn off all optional product and release announcement emails at any time in your account Settings (Notifications) or by using the unsubscribe link in any such message. Opting out does not affect essential account messages such as billing receipts from your payment provider or replies to support requests you send us.
Download records
When you download a Puppet 3D bundle from our website while signed in, we record which product you downloaded (for example SketchUp Free, SketchUp Pro, or Blender Pro when available), the bundle version tag you selected, and the time of the download. Per-account summaries are stored on your license record; we also keep aggregated counters (totals by product and version) for service statistics. We do not inject download data into the installer file itself.
License validation and device data
Puppet 3D Pro uses license validation to confirm that a subscription is active and that the device limit has not been exceeded. This may include a license token, a machine fingerprint, device name, local username, last-seen timestamp, and the Pro bundle version last reported from SketchUp on that machine (stored as last bundle version on each registered device). We use this data to provide the service you purchased, protect the software from unauthorized distribution, help you manage registered machines in your account, and understand which release builds are in use. Puppet 3D Free does not perform this license validation and does not send install telemetry from SketchUp.
Legal bases
Where applicable privacy laws require a legal basis, we process data to perform our contract with you (including Pro subscription updates), comply with legal obligations, protect our legitimate interests in security and anti-abuse, and to send account holders proportionate product and release communications about Puppet 3D, where you may opt out as described above. Where required, we also rely on your consent.
Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate Puppet 3D, including payment processors (when checkout is enabled), hosting, authentication, database, email, automation, source code, analytics, and support providers. These may include Google Firebase, Vercel, Hostinger, n8n, Resend, GitHub, and similar vendors used to deliver and secure the service.
International transfers
Because Puppet 3D uses global cloud providers, your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided by our vendors and applicable data protection laws.
Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the subscription, maintaining licenses, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, complying with legal and tax obligations, and keeping security records. Some records may be deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or request a copy of your personal information. You may also cancel your subscription through your payment provider or account options when billing is active. You may opt out of optional release and product announcement emails (including Pro release notices sent to Free accounts) in Settings or via the unsubscribe link in those messages. To make a privacy request, contact support@puppet3d.com.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions, account login, checkout, security, and performance. If we add non-essential analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and provide any consent tools required by law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including managed hosting, authentication, access controls, and secure handling of payments via qualified payment providers when checkout is enabled. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Puppet 3D changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
